Categories: Civic Centers, Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Ping'an Village draws visitors to view the marvel of its rice terraces descending steeply from an altitude of 1,100 (3,600 ft) down to 300 m (984 ft). First cultivated between 1271 and 1368, during the Yuan Dynasty, the rice terraces today support around 50 families, comprising of mainly Zhuang people and some Yao people. As you wander through the alleyways, you will come across different viewing points offering impressive vistas of the terrace-lined valley spilling out below. Make sure you save time to sample some local delicacies during your visit, such as bamboo rice. The village remains inaccessible by car--it's roughly a 20-minute uphill walk from the main parking spot.
