Iron Bridge of Yellow River, Lanzhou

3.1
Completed in 1909, Iron Bridge of Yellow River represents the first permanent bridge over this crucial waterway. The German-made bridge replaced all the floating ones that stood before it, making history as the first of its kind on the Yellow River. Although closed to motor vehicles, it remains open to pedestrians as well as cyclists. Cross the iron bridge and take in the sight of the city skyline. • A historic Waterside on the Yellow River (Huang He), which is the University City of Lanzhou. Lanzhou was long time talking as China's new capital. Mao's cultural revolution but Beijing capital did. Now Langhou is the capital of the pasta - Yes, read correctly. There are delicious pastas with fresh noodles are manufactured and prepared at the table. Lanzhou has some points of interest: 1. the iron bridge, the Zhongshan bridge; by German engineers 1904-06 planned and constructed and by American metal workers in 1907 built (riveted, not welded). 2. died. old Wasserschöpf wheels of wood; to pump water into the dry hinterland. 3. bridge Museum; Bridge and bridge-history - are shown also child-friendly - in Bai Ta buildings (Chengguan Qu road). 4. gondola cable car across the Huang He; comfortable crossing of the river and light after the up coming to the Baitashan Park. 5. white pagoda; very picturesquely situated on the peak, close to the River with a magnificent view on the Yellow River. Down the footpath leads through various ages of the former monastery. There are in and around Lanzhou much to discover. We want to return times

  • This bridge is very interesting, only walkers can go up, even bicycles can not be on. If the weather is good, the scenery is good, you can enjoy the Yellow River. When we went to the Yellow River is very clear, not yellow, I heard that the Yellow River in winter is like this. I suggest you go to the nearby Baita Park. You can go down and walk along the river, but it's all mud and wear the right shoes.
