Kunming West Hill (Xishan Forest Park), Kunming

Categories: Mountains, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web
Cloaked by lush vegetation, Kunming West Hill (Xishan Forest Park) boasts numerous scenic spots and historic sites, such as artificial grottoes and ancient Taoist temples. To some, the hills look like a sleeping beauty lying on the edge of the lake, while others recognize the image of a giant sleeping Buddha. Hike up the hill on the flight of narrow and uneven steps to reach the 200-years-old grottoes carved out of the sheer cliffs. Along the way, you will pass corridors and pavilions with colorful sculptures. You can also take a chairlift to the top, enjoy the panoramic views of the lake and the city, and then walk down the plank road from the grottoes.
