Built in 1441 supposedly on cemetery grounds, the largest mosque in China, Id Kah Mosque, features ornate decorations and a shaded pine tree courtyard. The exterior displays a brick tower, embellished with green flower patterns, while the interior prayer hall stands out for its impressive light blue pillars. Take a stroll around to see pictures and carvings etched onto the mosque's walls, then cool off in the garden next to a small pond, which presents a perfect reflection of the surrounding trees and bushes.   • And the equestrian shop or souvenir room some large square before the mosque. The mosque itself tourist destination although mainly elderly Uighur people worship regularly, and comes alive as a religious institution.

  • this mosque is in the centre of the old town of Kashgar. The outside is a nice colour however theres not much to see in the grounds or inside as some rooms are roped off but its worth a visit.  more »
