Millennium City Park, Kaifeng
(4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Step back into the time of the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127 CE) during a trip to Millennium City Park, a theme park with buildings, performances, and staff dressed as characters from the period. The cultural site covers an area of 39 ha (98 ac) and features a number of buildings replicating the look of those found in the famous 12th-century painting ''Qingming Festival by the Riverside," by Zhang Zeduan. Strolling through the imperial gardens, and across the grand bridge, you'll see a number of traditional scenes, including weddings, puppet shows, and dances, as well as people making traditional crafts, and even sitting imperial examinations, with many of the scenes allowing for audience participation.
