Where to stay in Jinghong

Catering both to backpackers traveling to and from Laos, as well as a growing number of domestic tourists, Jinghong offers an abundance of places to stay. The main streets contain a number of large hotels with varying degrees of additional luxuries, such as restaurants, spas, and gyms. Youth hostels provide the primary budget-friendly options in town, most located near the main gardens and parks. Larger resorts sit on the outskirts of town, offering extensive views of the surrounding landscape.

  • Very expensive entrance tickets for what it offers. And don't bother for 'interpreters' soliciting you inside the park. There is nothing to translate or interpret. Also, too many hawkers hassle you wi...  more »
  • It's a long way from Jingling (2 1/2 hours by car). Has a skyway - basically elevated rope bridges for extra 100 yuan, kids said it was ok. You also get a brief ride up the Mekong river in a boat with...  more »
  • My teenagers and I enjoyed walking through the tropical forest environment. Take the electric cart to the Eastern district for peace and quiet, away from the tourist groups.  more »
