3.7/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web
Head down Tunxi Ancient Street to admire the architecture, shops, and eats of a well-preserved old district. The shophouses that line the way display an Anhui style of architecture, with two or three brick and wood floors, and a depth allowing for a storefront, residential quarters, and a storeroom or workshop in the back. Stop off at a teahouse just off the main strip to sample some traditional teas and watch the mass of people go by in search of a souvenir. While here, consider paying a visit to the old ink factory, where they still make calligraphy products in traditional ways, purchasable from the gift shop.
