Wisdom Path, Hong Kong

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 25+ reviews on the web
Take a meditative walk along Wisdom Path, an arrangement of monuments representing important prayer verses. The 38 monuments each display verses from the ancient Heart Sutra, which is sacred to Confucians, Buddhists, and Taoists. Wander up close and you'll see the prayers, engraved in Chinese symbols into the structures. Notice how the monuments form an infinity pattern. While a popular attraction, the place retains a feeling of serenity and calm. Combine this with a visit to the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. Put Wisdom Path into our Hong Kong itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Nice little walk close to the big Buddha. Easily accessible and pretty peaceful. The experience really made me want to try one of the many other walks on the island.
  • U should choose a workday so that there are few people and you can enjoy the solitude over there. Really a nice place for relaxation and reflection.
  • Worth to have a walk there if you are in Ngong Ping that area.
  • Very cool path up in the mountainsx a short walk from the monastery and Buddha. The walk from the other tourist sites is vet short and very relaxing after the big crowds, so don't miss this. The path is a figure eight or infinity sign with lines of Buddhist writtings on large wooden plinths. Try to find the one blank one which signifies the never ending quest for wisdom.
  • Accessible, 10 min walk from the temple.
