Western Market, Hong Kong

1.8
#86 of 317 in Shopping in Hong Kong
One of the oldest structures in the region, and the oldest surviving marketplace in the city, Western Market attracts tourists with its status as a protected historical landmark and authentic local marketplace. Among the stores here are a Bavarian-style bakery, a place where you can sample Chinese desserts, several cafes, and souvenir shops stocking traditional Chinese and Hong Kong goods. There is also a bar and restaurant on the top floor, where a sizable function room plays host to dance nights. • After it stopped in Manchuria Annals with choice of hotel hanging out. So when you previously visited on a tour to Hong Kong S.A.R., trouble on the bus came to a famous (? ) During the Showa era feel, and very decent shops lined up, is like building. Lined with shops on the second floor, the restaurant is located on the 3rd floor. To enter in the toilet on the landing of the stairs on the north side is the pin input is needed.

  • There are not many shops here. 1st sty has some cafe dessert cafe gifts stores.2sty are all textile shops. 3rd sty is a big banquet hall with high ceiling. The fair facing brick walls make a the architecture simply nostalgic awesome. We stop by while waiting for the tram tour to start at 4.30pm.
  • Cute historical market, albeit with modern stores. Nice place to stroll around nonetheless.
  • Lots of fabric stores here, tourist trinkets, etc I probably wouldn't go out of my way to see it. A bakery here is good if passing by and needing a snack. It is on the trolley line too.
  • This place is very beautiful! You can find some fabric and textile shops on the first floor. The top and second floors would be closed for a private party. If you would like to have a break, you can find desserts and beverages on the ground floor. In addition, there is a historical weight scale~
  • It wasn't worth the trip from our perspective but we saw lots of great sights and antiques during our walk there.
