As expectations with regard to this place were not high, the disappointment was not so great. Really, not worth making a very long shift to visit this place specifically, since it does not have any special attraction. The best is the building itself, because inside there are only some fabrics and souvenir shop and a bar for a drink. It is better to take time to enjoy some of the many attractions that the city. Greetings to all travelers.

We visited it in the morning around 10 am. There wasn't much happening. Some silk shops, not much more. We went to the second floor with the dinning tables. We played the piano for a short song, which...  more »

I wandered through here on my way to Tung St (antiques area), and used the restroom. It''s an old colonial building that now houses little shops selling all sorts of souvenirs, postcards and trinkets....  more »

Nice for a quick stop. There's not much to do in here. The top floors are reserved for big party celebrations while the bottom two are for shops. It's very small, and the stores mainly sell fabrics.

Western Market opens at 10AM. I proceeded with the Walking Tour around Sheung Wan starting off with the nearby Cafes to grab a breakfast. Inside the 1600 building, we see textile and fabric stalls reflective of Hong Kong's culture and history.

Lots of silk fabric shops there. Western Market originally consisted of two separate blocks: the South Block on Queen’s Road Central was erected in 1858 and demolished in 1980; smaller than the South Block, the North Block was built in 1906 in the Edwardian style that is highlighted by the ‘bandaged’ brickwork of the four corner towers

Beautiful historical building! Too bad it has been under renovation for so long.. The first floor with all the fabric stall is worth being visited!

Poorly concept and not do attractive. Entrance facing Des Voeux Road is spoiled by MTR's ventilatory.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
