4.3
#9 of 20 in Trails in Hong Kong
Challenge yourself with a hike up Tai Mo Shan, the highest peak of Hong Kong. Leave the city hustle and climb or drive all the way to the 957 meter (3139 feet) summit. The surrounding park is a wildlife haven, with a variety of bird and butterfly species. Trek the many scenic trails, with varying difficulty levels and different viewpoints offering stunning vistas of lush green plantations and surrounding islands. The coldest place in Hong Kong, this area sees snowfall during cold spells. Facilities such as campsites, grills, information centers, and toilets are available, but no cafes or restaurants, so bring your own food supplies. • Used to be in Hong Kong Mountain, on the Tai Mo Shan can be a point of the lens through. South of the Sierra Leone and Hong Kong Island. West to see the outlying islands and Dayushan, there are Tunmen Castle peak. North of Shenzhen to see a row of high-rise buildings and Hong Kong-Macau Bridge. East of the most exciting, see Ma On Shan, Sai Kung and Immortals Ridge. Magnificent.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
