  • The South District is perhaps not right on the doorstep of Hong Kong but is still easily reachable within an hour or so with a multitude of public transportation, especially buses, along a coastal road highly scenic. Compared to Hong Kong, this is a whole other world. Peace, quiet and relaxed pace. It's nice to walk along the promenade, admiring the background some outer islands; and it is relaxing for the capital's inhabitants so stressed. No shortage of pretty cafes for quick meals and snacks. There is a busy market and inevitable, chaotic and frequented by tourists, where is sale the usual junk Chinese markets. The most interesting thing to see in town is the war cemetery, about twenty minutes walk from the Centre; It's worth going over there to visit it. There are also small coves where you can swim, but when I went there I the temperature was prohibitive and I experienced.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
