Shek O, Hong Kong
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
A contrast to Hong Kong's tall skyscrapers and big business, the seaside village of Shek O shows the island's other side: pleasant beaches, a relaxed pace, and nature to explore. The area is even home to a prehistoric rock carving, depicting geometric designs and animals. Seemingly untouched by the arrival of the British, this little town has a stronger Chinese feel to it, with narrow lanes, colorful houses, and small temples. A hike up to a popular viewpoint affords a panoramic view of the coastline below. To visit Shek O and other attractions in Hong Kong, use our Hong Kong itinerary maker.
