  • It is convenient to bypass the Metro station right in front of the racetrack day at the races. Chuo line Higashi-Nippon Steel (Racecourse) station. In that case only at buy a return ticket, and one so crowded a little only after the whole race? If the Octopus card is no problem. Racetrack admission is $ 10 H.

  • I was fortunate to visit Sha Tin for a Wednesday night of racing. My expectation was a quiet night. I was very surprised to see so many people at the races on a Wednesday. Great atmosphere and a range...  more »

  • Spectacular to see the races. You can sit up close or further back. Betting is well explained by on site staff if that's your thing. Entrance fee is cheap. Nice atmosphere with locals and the hills in the distance make for a nice backdrop.
  • Good tourist place to check out horse racing in hong kong. accessible through MTR
  • Visited the Racecourse on the season's last race day. The MTR stops at the adjacent station only on race days (be sure to take the train to Lo Wu or Hung Hom via Racecourse on the East Rail Line). Admission is 10HKD by Octopus or cash. The atmosphere inside was something else entirely, you'd be hard pressed to find a person not holding a pen and betting papers). And once the horses run past the grandstands, you'll see the changing expressions, screams of joys and frustrated swearing. Plenty of facilities too such as restaurants, a gift shop and even tours if you pay extra.
  • We spent a full Sunday at the races in 2014. It was about 99% locals but we felt very welcome and enjoyed the beautiful day. We bet about 6 races but didn't do so well there. Would love to go back again some day.
  • World class racecourse, great atmosphere, good range of food and beverage options.
