Lion Rock, Hong Kong

(4.6/5 based on 25+ reviews on the web)
Lion Rock, or less formally Lion Rock Hill, is a hill in Hong Kong. It is located between Kowloon Tong in Kowloon and Tai Wai in the New Territories, and is 495 metres high. The peak consists of granite covered sparsely by shrubs.Lion Rock is famous for its shape and is visible from various places in Kowloon; its resemblance to a crouching lion is most striking from the Choi Hung and San Po Kong areas in East Kowloon. A trail wends its way up the forested hillside to the top, culminating atop the lion's head. The trail can be followed across the profile of the lion, eventually linking up with the MacLehose Trail. The rock provides a beautiful view of the city and Hong Kong Island in the distance. The entire hill is located within Lion Rock Country Park in Hung Mui Kuk, Tai Wai and is made passable by vehicles by Lion Rock Tunnel, which connects Kowloon Tong and Tai Wai.Lion Rock is near another famous rock structure, the Amah Rock. A road in Kowloon City is named Lion Rock Road (獅子石道).
Lion Rock is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Hong Kong Edition.

  • On the good end of the day family and relatives (three adults and one 11-year-old and 6-year-old two) in climbed. Yellow Daisen station climb on foot via the lion Mountain Park, walk to Sha Tin Station on the way back, got off. Because small children had to climb took about two hours and a half, was an hour and a half. Was overwhelmed with awesome views from the top. During the climb, the natural tree squirrel and also a beautiful butterfly. Also in the Park went back to 見remashita wild boar and monkeys. (Seemed has used these animals to human and familiar, given food from humans. ) And craggy rocks near the Summit there are stairs right not so small children and elderly care is required. Careful than adults when it rained and. Must be pre-certified for to climb when we go the toilet when there is no.. Women executives were struggling men finished in a Bush off the road. I say overall satisfaction is higher and still come back. (Summer must have a toilet problem, water to drink is so severe. )
