Nature / Park
Escape the hubbub of the city and head to Kowloon Park, in the center of Tsim Sha Tsui. The former site of British army barracks, this spot was redeveloped into a large park in 1970 and now features Chinese-style decorations and buildings, gardens, and scenic spots for relaxation. Stroll along the pathways leading through the lush greenery to spot colorful birds and flowers of all types. If you're looking for recreation, the park features a sports center, public pool, soccer pitch, and other facilities. • It is a respite in the city, you can also bathe in pools (paying 17Hk dolars!) is clean and there is so many people :)

  • Connection is promenade and the Nathan Road - directly from the hotel between Kowloon for the short relaxation of Kowloon - a few steps alone do well before you again Nathan Road moves to vibrant life. Nothing dazzling, but well maintained and comfortable. I'm guessing this welcome break again!

  • This park is worth visiting if you're already in the area and either like parks, are looking for a break from the city, or have never been to a Chinese park. It's the largest city park I've been to in...  more »

  • great place to spend time with family. lots of greenery and play area. It connects to the harbour sight. There are flamingos and other type of birds that will excite all. there is swimming pool and sport center.
  • Pleasant park with many facilities! Nice bird park and playground for kids. But it does get quite crowded over there since a lot of classes are held there, especially weekends where a lot of families go there for leisure. A lot of people in the pools. Not too hygienic there either. Great park though!!
  • A serene place in the midst of busy city. Excellent for morning strolls. There is a small collection of birds kept at the park and you can also find flamingos at the pond.
  • This was the most beautiful city park I have been so far; and the best thing in it was the swimming pool. It looked so relaxing and welcoming that I wished I was a local there!! It was so well managed; best was the shower curtain one had to walk through to go to the pool which meant everyone took a shower entering and existing the pool!! When we visited it was children's time I think and for parents who were watching them, there were umbrellas to cross that aforementioned shower! The aviary was also beautiful saw flamingo and many seasonal ducks. You can also find water and toilet but have to look for it because there were no clear English instruction on where they were. Another great thing, there was free WiFi within the park!
  • Clean and relaxing park. Best spots are those benches facing the pond/fountain. After hours of windows shopping in Tsim Sha Tsui, this place offers nature and relaxation.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
