Learn about the developments of medicine at Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, a cultural institution based in a landmark building. Opened in 1995, the museum occupies three floors of what was once the Bacteriological Institute (built in an attractive Edwardian style in 1906). Walk through the 11 exhibition galleries, learning the history of medicine and medical practice in the city along with information regarding health and diseases, and contemporary issues of the medical world. Expect to find plenty of unrecognizable instruments, previously commonplace in doctors' surgeries and hospitals, used to treat illnesses, diseases, and injuries. • Interesting place but it seems like their main. Premiss was to show case the plague that occured. It is a good place if you want to learn about that but in general there is not a lot of information about the history of Hong Kong medical system. They do have some very cool display and the building it self is quite unique for the area. Recommend checking it out if you have time.
