Science Museum
Learn about the developments of medicine at Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, a cultural institution based in a landmark building. Opened in 1995, the museum occupies three floors of what was once the Bacteriological Institute (built in an attractive Edwardian style in 1906). Walk through the 11 exhibition galleries, learning the history of medicine and medical practice in the city along with information regarding health and diseases, and contemporary issues of the medical world. Expect to find plenty of unrecognizable instruments, previously commonplace in doctors' surgeries and hospitals, used to treat illnesses, diseases, and injuries. • On the ring and then climbed back up the stairs and slopes. At the very top and go looking for it takes 20 minutes from the train station. However I feel the history of the red-brick building, takes Web under renovation. In two weeks, did not watch exhibition. Next to a small park with playground equipment. Lined with antique shops on the way, it is interesting.

  • 位於上環的醫學博物館. 博物館有位置重現香港舊時的醫療設施。 雖然展品不多, 但還是值得推薦。 距離火車站有點遠, 建議坐巴士。  more »

  • Temporarily closed until Feb 2017. Walking there from the closest MTR station leaves you looking like you've just walked out a shower....of sweat....due to the long uphill climb. Take a taxi or Uber for about HKD 30-40 instead if you want to avoid the climb, but you might miss out on the little shops along the way up that are always interesting to look at. The Sun Yat-Sen museum is close by and free admission if you're already up there.
  • Creepy and interesting. Worth $10hkd and 30 mins.
  • This used to be a Pathology Institute where the laboratories of the Medical and Health Department was established. Now it becomes a museum showing the history of medicine. The old equipments were no longer used and it demonstrated how the medical services of Hong Kong advances to become the top three most efficient health care systems in the globe.
  • Interesting exhibits but not a lot to see. Quite a few exhibits were closed when I visited.
  • Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences offers indepth knowledge of progress of medical sciences in hong kong. Great place for all kids and adults who are interested in hong kong's beginning in medical science and its progress. The museum charges 20 dollars entry fee.
