Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Hong Kong

4.5
For those wanting cerebral and educational insights into Hong Kong’s financial past, head to Hong Kong Monetary Authority. The center's exhibitions delve into the city’s historical money processes and financial center, and hosts incredibly informative and interesting presentations. Building security will ask to see photo ID, so come prepared. The views of the busy city landscape from the higher floors is also worth stopping for. • Exhibits, such as the history of the monetary authority of Hong Kong S.A.R. banknote and coin production is real, but is was good and can be visited free of charge anywhere from 55 floor of the IFC. Entrance is at the entrance of the Mall and Office, not closest to the ferry pier-side people looked after City Ferry Terminal on the ground floor there is a 55-floor dedicated to the front door. Passed the entry card into the case was registered and show proof of identification such as passports at the reception desk, with a neck strap. Through the gate's staff, dedicated to historical sites. Unfortunately not this feature in the library, Victoria Harbour, Tsim Sha Tsui and on the East side, in the ring or on a ring of buildings, mountain, blue cloth bridge can be seen in the beautiful. Too much to see at the foot of the buildings, is scary. Of course many interesting history of Hong Kong S.A.R. dollars. Few places Chair, can be slow. Field trips students who come in groups and little noisy. Because there is a tight cooler at your attention.

  • Great little gem, with an excellent view. The real draw here is the currency "museum" on the 55th floor, which contains a wealth of information. Did I mention it is all free?
  • Really enjoy being at the currency museum on the 55th floor. The view is pretty good and the exhibitions were engaging. For example, did you know that the HKD was and is still is pegged to the USD?
  • Great view from the 55th floor. A free museum charting the use of money in HK. Good for people interested in economics and finance. You need an official I'd to get in, e.g. A passport
  • The Information Centre is a must visit. Also perfect for sweeping views of HK Island.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
