If you plan to travel to and from Macau, head to Hong Kong's main departure point at Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. Two ferry operators, TurboJET and Cotai Water Jet conduct services here with varying types of boats, including fast-speed ferries like catamarans and Boeing Jetfoils. Ferries from both operators leave at least every 30 minutes. Helicopter travel is also available at Shun Tak Heliport, located above the inner pier of the ferry terminal.   • We had a 17 hour layover in HKG so decided to have a look in Macau. The ferry transfer was very easy and quick. if you have time to spend it is a easy day trip and well worth doing.  more »

  • It's everything you read about. Except, there is a cheap food court if you have to wait. everything is done to expedite your leaving HK, even the little slips of paper in your passport.  more »
