Hong Kong Disneyland, Hong Kong

4.1
#1 of 234 in Theme Parks in China
Enjoy a world of Disney characters and Disney-inspired rides and attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland, an Asian branch of the popular American brand. Opened in 2005, the park caters to tourists, with the Disney cast speaking English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Explore seven themed sections, from a world of fantasy to Main Street, USA. Along the way you'll encounter attractions like Tarzan's treehouse, a Cinderella carousel, and Sleeping Beauty's castle--plus live Disney characters and plenty of dining options. Although an American company, this location has a uniquely Chinese flair, with important components of Chinese culture, such as feng shui, incorporated into its design. This was our first family experience of Disneyland, and whilst good was probably not comparable with the US parks. I'm saying this as it was easily covered in a day. For the younger kids it's great, b...  more »

It is really the happiest place on earth! Even as adults, the mere sight of Mickey Mouse et al brought out the child in us. Our kids enjoyed the rides and the parade. Food can be very expensive so be ...  more »

The park was much better than expected. All the rides were good condition with excellent fun. Its a great park for all ages, and everyone has something to do and see. The live show for the LION KING was absolutely out of this world; it was just amazing! One downside was the price of everything, but thankfully, they weren't too bad. Excellent day, and lots to see. Amazing!

What can I say,it's Disneyland!!! Well maintained, and a lot of fun. Great shows, rides, and we can meet Disney characters walking around. The stage shows are well choreographed, and the themed sections of the park, each with their specialities are wonderful. At certain time intervals a parade runs through the park, at night the castle comes alive with fireworks. Definitely a must see if you are in Hong Kong.

Standard offering from Disney. Strongly recommend visiting during weekdays when ride wait times are negligible or not there at all. Weekends can have wait times of almost 45-60 mins per ride resulting in not being able to cover all sections. They also have a two day pass which is well priced

Great place for autumn and winter travel. Too hot if you come in summer. update: 2017/07: the washrooms are very dirty, pls clean it up frequent enough. and the membership card claims to offer discount on dining, but no discount here and no discount there. After a day at Disneyland, i didn't get a single discount on dining. Reduce to two stars. I don't care if there is discount, i just don't feel good when u advertise discount but you have to look into fine prints to find out one. I am glad that i only bought one membership but not all my family members.

The atmosphere created is very good. If you have a cloudy day, call yourself lucky. The afternoon and evening parades are a major attraction. The fireworks are also very good. There are a lot of rides for children as well as adults. I had a fun time there.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
