Flower Market Road, Hong Kong

3.8
Whether you just want to browse or make purchases, Flower Market Road is an interesting shopping street filled with cut flowers, potted plants, seeds, and bulbs. Find a huge variety of flowers here, including orchids, as well as equipment to properly care for your plant. Photographs are welcome, but vendors will not be pleased if you get in the way of paying customers. If you decide to buy a flower, be sure to check with your airline about transporting it back to your country. A visit to Flower Market Road represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Hong Kong trip itinerary planning site to plot your vacation.

  • There are many fairs in hong Kong and this full of beauty of flowers. For those who like to see such beauty it is worth getting lost for her. It's good that next to her has other fairs.

  • This was such a fun experience. My friends in HK told me about the flower market, and my assumption was that it would be a couple blocks of flowers. I was wrong - it seemed like the stores and vendors...  more »
  • Worth a visit, there are dozens of stores full of flowers and ornamental plants. It's nice to walk even adjacent streets where is the Bird Garden and in the street in front of FAY YUEN STREET where there are pet shops and other stores where they sell various insects.

  • Interesting local market, they didn't have any exotic flowers different from the ones that we have in the USA, but still interesting since it's a very "locals" place. It's small, just a couple of blocks long, quick 15' visit.
  • Flower market. It's alright. I expected a traditional market with tarp roofed vendors, but this is more a street with flower shops. Good if you're looking for a variety of flowers, but otherwise just a nice casual stroll.
  • Soil can be bought more cheaply from local farms in no-name bags that have been mixed on-site, but depending on what you're shopping for and how much you're getting you may find that it's an easier and cheaper trip to go home from the Flower Market in a GOGO van. Some of the bigger garden shops offer membership discounts for larger purchases, however are unlikely to give any leeway in the sale price, whereas small shops and stalls may be more flexible on price or even allow haggling. If you are looking for seed stock of western fruits and vegetables in particular this is the best place for it.
  • It is such a Great flower gift shopping experience for you
  • Great place if you are looking for horticultural needs, or simply have an hour or 2 to pass and walk around and enjoy the cut flowers, herbs and shrubs for sale.

Where to stay in Hong Kong

Head to Tsim Sha Tsui for the main tourist section of Hong Kong, where it's easy to find reasonably priced accommodations to suit your particular requirements, with more expensive hotels closer to the water and side streets offering budget hostels. You can also consider Hong Kong Island, which offers easy links to the mainland via its ferry and train lines. Chain hotels sit in the northern section of the island, where luxury and budget options remain available.
