Wan Chai North, where major buildings such as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Central Plaza are located, refers to the area north of Gloucester Road, reclaimed from the sea after the 1970s.The broader administrative "Wan Chai District" includes the areas of Wan Chai, Wan Chai North, Causeway Bay, Happy Valley, Jardine's Lookout, Stubbs Road, Wong Nai Chung Gap and Tai Hang.

  • We had a wander around the market today. Definitely worth a visit. There is lots of things for sale in the market. The locals shop there for their meat and veg. There is also a small indoor area too.....  more »
  • This a very local market in Wan Chai and not far from Times Square and it has some character and is interesting although you might question some of the food and how it is stored and handled...  more »

  • I hardly ever frequent wet markets but this one was surprisingly non smelly and a lot of fun. We got a bag full of fresh prawns for $100, and I'm going back next week to try my hand at calamari.
  • Love the indoor meat and seafood stalls. I always find something nice there.
  • A big market that sells seafood, pork and chicken (frozen and fresh), fruits and vegetable varieties that may be cheaper in outside stalls of the market. Plus it has the convenience of food stalls, groceries, clothing stalls, restaurants and fast food around the market.
  • Best in the morning when it's less crowded. Later on you will get lots of old lady elbows. Inside the building there is more variety but moew expensive, while outside has cheap Cantonese fruits, veggies, and meats.
  • Very interesting. Fish and pork prices are expensive compared to Australia. Vegetables are good price wise and very fresh. Quality and variety are excellent.
