Aberdeen, Hong Kong

(2.4/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Tourists flock to Aberdeen for an example of modernity juxtaposed with tradition, where skyscrapers look over a harbor and fishing community. Head to the south side, where the area's typhoon shelter has become one of the most popular seafood dining destinations in the world. Look for the largest floating restaurant on the planet, shaped like a Chinese palace, and serving modern or traditional Chinese and fusion dishes. • In Aberdeen you can arrive by bus (n° 72) from Hong Kong with an easy ride. I really enjoyed seeing the fish market where you can see in the various basins of various colors, giant grouper, lobster, crab and seafood also of the strangest. Fishermen travel with rubber boots because there's water everywhere but it is a sight not to be missed. Nice promenade with various boats (sampans) who invite you on a tour of half an hour between the houses and the boats of the fishermen. Then there is the pier where the free boat that takes you to the Jumbo floating restaurant (an institution for the country). If you add a trip to the shops I'd say a trip to Aberdeen is more than recommended.
