Mountain Nature / Park
Surrounded by seven hills and three man-made lakes, Yuexiu Mountain offers visitors charming antiques and an ecological haven. Covering an area of 860,000 sq m (9.2 million sq ft), the park contains many scattered places of interest where legends were created. Visit the stone sculpture which became the city's emblem and source of luck. Head to the green-tiled, five-story tower which serves as the city's museum, housing artifacts and important historic documents. The park also provides a swimming pool, an amusement park, a square pavilion, many restaurants, and an area suited for viewing several species of flowers. Where to stay in Guangzhou

Guangzhou's commercial industries make it well-equipped to host visitors, though do book well ahead of time if traveling during the peak fall and spring trade fair rushes. The city's gleaming skyscrapers contain a number of the best four- and five-star hotels in Guangzhou, while others lie tucked away in historical European-style buildings. For budget-friendlier options, a number of youth hostels welcome a steady stream of international visitors, though most are located outside of the city center.
