Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou

(4.1/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Dive into the history and culture of Guangdong at Guangdong Museum. The museum offers a fascinating juxtaposition of modern architecture on the outside, with a traditional Chinese interior design. The design represents an ancient openwork container which protects many local treasures. Inside, you’ll find exhibits of exquisite ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, bronze and woodcarvings. Numerous interactive displays aim to keep young children entertained. During busy periods, the museum staff may limit the duration of visits. • So impressive. Great items on display and it's FREE! I spent 4 hours here. Bring your passport for admission.
  • In a huge building there was only one good exhibit, so a typically not-so-good Chinese museum. Gotta have your passport on you to enter if you're a foreigner, not really worth the trouble.

  • Very poor museum. A huge building, mostly big open space, with a limited number of exhibits, containing few items, of inconsequential importance or interest.
  • Very nice.
