Mt. Emei Natural Ecology Monkey Reserve, Emeishan
(4/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Mt. Emei Natural Ecology Monkey Reserve serves as China's biggest reserve for wild monkeys. Home to about 1,000 Tibetan macaques, this sanctuary allows visitors to observe wildlife in a natural habitat. When you visit, keep in mind that these are wild animals--though used to tourists, the monkeys can exhibit rather violent behavior, especially once they spot food. Keep your possessions near your body and observe the animals without trying to feed them. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Mt. • I felt very intimidated by the monkeys. They looked menacing and were grabbing any bags that people were holding, food or not. If you go zip everything away.
