Ruin
Discover an awe-inspiring display of Chinese religious rock carvings and sculptures at UNESCO-inscribed The Dazu Rock Carvings. The carvings scatter across 75 protected sites, which contain over 50,000 statues and thousands of Chinese characters. The site gained World Heritage status due to its grand scale and aesthetic quality of the sculptures. Admire these magnificent carvings, which date as far back as the seventh-century Tang dynasty and some of which are in rock shrines, others carved directly into open rock face. These beautiful carvings demonstrate the harmonious relationship between Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism in the region. Access for wheelchairs, pushchairs, and those with walking difficulties is limited. • Our tour did not prepare me for how amazing these 13th Century carvings were. They were spared during the Cultural Revolution because of their importance. Carved right into stone the carvings depicts ...  more »
  • Via Highway bus, route 205 bus from Chongqing, took three hours. It took 30 minutes to reach the Museum, buy a ticket and then I stepped in the toilet along the way. Anyway to no avail. Tickets matched the two locations of treasure mountains and kitayama off-season rate was 120 was the original (only treasure mountains 110 original). Signs, so I we walked towards the exit before the time has been wasted. Most customers hire tours or guide, was laid. Encountered in the foreign one. I thought I would say inscriptions itself is huge, there is also the story of great things, but if there is a description of the scene, more deeply could understand would be in. Kitayama go by taxi from Mt. treasure, then 50 are handmade and not original to go for 3 hire a scooter from the original 205 bus back to the Terminal, 10 went under. On the way back down, so I walked to the Terminal.

  • Inner Mongolia is about 1 hour by bus from Chongqing. The entrance to the site is enormous and the walk through the bamboo plants and Lotus. Once inside the site you will be faced with a wonderful show. The itinerary is obliged, but very "free" management. You will see at least 300,000 sculptures (small and Giants) that will make you soak in the spirit of Buddhism. Linger under the "wheel of existence" (sculpture representing the belief of circular symbols of eternity) every single statue exudes history and every single representation exudes spiritual significance. Recommend a visit. Take your time and enjoy a dip in the history and spirituality.

  • 值得前來欣賞,具有濃厚的佛教氣息,雖然知名度沒有敦煌石窟的大,來重慶玩也是可以安排的景點
  • Simply terrific

  • The change of our cruise ship (see ship review "Blue Whale"), we had the opportunity to visit the Buddhist cave sculptures close to in the treasure mountain. The drive from Chongqing there (approx. 80 km distance) with our bus took about 3 hours and went through a typical Chinese landscape with a lot of rice. The cave sculptures belong since 1999 to the UNESCO world cultural heritage. Our Shimbo's DERTOUR travel guide led us in the German language by the interesting complex. The scenes of the "last judgement" were particularly impressive. After lunch we went back again to Chongqing, where we arrived at 18 o'clock on our cruise ship blue whale. The suitcases were separated on the way (from the Hotel Holiday Inn to the ship) and arrived in a timely manner.
