  • Unless you are very interested in the museum and will look at the solution, or go to see the flowers as soon as they turn around, you can quickly walk through the exhibition hall.

  • An afternoon visit on Sunday with hundreds of senior citizens and children. A massive structure with 4 floors and plenty of fixed and temporary exhibition halls. Need more than 3 hours to go through.  more »
  • The name of the museum is rather misleading as the Three Gorges exhibit only takes up one third of the first of three floors. The rest is taken up of various Chinese artifacts such as art, porcelain, ...  more »

  • Good exhibits on the local area and the Three Gorges, particularly the Ba people that lived here. The geologic history of the gorges was interesting, and I enjoyed that they had river stones from before the dam was put in. They also had an informative, if a bit random, exhibit on all the different minorities throughout China. The top floor was filled with the collection of a benefactor who collected as many things as he could during the Cultural Revolution, so it's a bit of a mish-mash, but there are beautiful ceramics and calligraphy from the various dynasties. My only complaint is there's no air-conditioning in it, so it can get sweltering.
  • Walk around. can spend a few hours.
  • It's tough to rate when you just have a drink at the coffee shop, but it looks OK.
  • This is a wonderful museum and it was completely free to go into and look around. You will not find this in America. I absolutely found it educational and a great adventure. Even though I am not Chinese I like history. you will not be disappointed.
