  • This piece of engineering is explained in detail in the museum. An amazing place to visit whilst on a river cruise.  more »
  • Easy to get too, Bus, Train or Taxi's. Taxis' are very cheap in Chongqing, and entry to the Museum is free. So if you are in Chongqing it's worth a visit.  more »
  • The overall construction of the dam is truly spectacular. During the construction, they managed to unearth some archaeological items.  more »

  • Good exhibits on the local area and the Three Gorges, particularly the Ba people that lived here. The geologic history of the gorges was interesting, and I enjoyed that they had river stones from before the dam was put in. They also had an informative, if a bit random, exhibit on all the different minorities throughout China. The top floor was filled with the collection of a benefactor who collected as many things as he could during the Cultural Revolution, so it's a bit of a mish-mash, but there are beautiful ceramics and calligraphy from the various dynasties. My only complaint is there's no air-conditioning in it, so it can get sweltering.
  • Walk around. can spend a few hours.
  • It's tough to rate when you just have a drink at the coffee shop, but it looks OK.
  • This is a wonderful museum and it was completely free to go into and look around. You will not find this in America. I absolutely found it educational and a great adventure. Even though I am not Chinese I like history. you will not be disappointed.
  • Good qualifiers
