  • There is a lot of history here and it is well documented and preserved. There are enough signs in English, and the park is beautiful. It is well worth spending a few hours here.  more »

  • We had a whole morning visiting this museum ..... Some great history of civilization was found a few thousand years ago with great craftsmanship of artifacts
  • This place is awesome! a local builder was digging for a new building and started finding relics.....I think they said in the 1990s? Then they uncovered a 1000 years of artifacts. This was a site, next to a small river, that would flood and silt over every 500 years, or so, and completely left four or five intact layers of this site undisturbed, and spanning a 1000 years. There is much jade and very unique culture that predates Han civilization by a 1000 years. I would highly recommend this site. It is astonishing . Many of the artifacts look other worldly, not Chinese at all. There are some great local eatery near to catch some good Chengdunese cuisine and a few beers. This museum should take a whole day.
  • Very interesting museum. The most fascinating part is the giant building that was erected over the original excavation site to preserve it.
  • An accidental finding during digging of a building foundation turned out to be the earliest knowing culture in Chengdu history. Lots of gold, jade, stone and clay artifacts were found. The famous gold plate with the sun and four mystery birds became the city symbol for Chengdu. The designs and craftsmanships of the artifacts had me say WOW to what people can do thousands of years ago.
  • some exhibitions are really unbelievable and beautiful. not a bad place to go.
