Wildlife Area
Dedicated to the reproduction and conservation of an endangered species, Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi) serves as a world-class educational and research facility. Founded in 1987 with six pandas, the center has seen tremendous success in breeding the species and has offered its expertise to other zoos and conservation parks in international partnerships. Visitors flock to the park to see giant pandas up close and to walk the scenic paths of its grounds, designed to mimic the natural habitat of the bears and other species as closely as possible. Take copious pictures without a flash, and leave no tracks behind--it's the best way to learn about pandas without disturbing their protected living space.
