Dedicated to the famous Chinese poet who lived during the Tang Dynasty, Du Fu Cottage offers visitors the opportunity to explore a 1,000-year-old home where more than 240 literary works of art were created. Poet Du Fu lived in this thatched cottage during 760 CE while fleeing from a rebellion, and during his four-year stay he composed poems that China counts as national treasures. Today the site represents a shrine to literature designed in the form of a traditional garden where chrysanthemums and orchids grow.
