Explore the ruins of an ancient city at Yancheng Ruins. The 0.6 sq km (0.23 sq mi) site stands as the oldest and best preserved excavation of a city in China. See the three layers of town walls and moats that protected the locals almost 3,000 years ago. The site abounds with signposts displaying historical facts, so you can get around easily without a guide. Bring some snacks or pack a picnic lunch, as you won't find any food on site. Work out when and for how long to visit Yancheng Ruins and other Changzhou attractions using our handy Changzhou family vacation planner.

  • If you have interest in knowing things of historic interest Chinese you are in the wrong place. It is an amusement park style, far from being one of the best you are going to enjoy in your life. The heat is unbearable if you are traveling in the summer and there are many things to see. If I had little time in Changzhou not he would spend it on this, the contrary would be travel to a nearby town (a temple or something) Changzhou is bad for the story. Sold you that there are ruins, but there are actually only a space where there WERE ruins
