Zhongshan Park, Beijing

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Take a walk between the altars, temples, gardens, and pavilions of Zhongshan Park, a former imperial site sitting on the southwest corner of the palace. Created in 1421 as the Altar of Land and Grain, where emperors would offer sacrifices, the site opened as a public park in 1928, with the historic altar still intact as its focal point. A number of halls and pavilions, dedicated to members of the imperial family, dot the 23 ha (57 ac) park, broken up by blooming flower gardens and wooded areas. • I have to pay the entrance, but it is very cheap. Our first evening in Beijing went to Tianammen and crossed the Meridian Gate (Wu Men). Then we had to retrace our steps to return to the hotel but we found that we could not do so because it was closed in that sense... for which we were forced to go back through this park. VERY NICE, VERY QUIET and RELAXING. The preferred time does not exist... is what you want
