  • We walked between the Jiankou and Mutianyu and Jiankoudelen was absolutely magical. We went up on the wall from the North via the "2nd Team of Xizhazi Village", which turned out not to be a cinch. We went wrong which meant that we had to go back many meters of altitude to get on the right path. One tip is to have a guide with them to find the top of the wall. Once you get help to get up on the wall using ladders for 5 RMB per person. Once up, it was just amazing. Extremely beautiful view. Divine decay and almost completely deserted. To go to the wall to Mutianyu, you should go to the left = to the East. If you don't want to climb up to the Tower Ox Horn, there is a much easier shortcut to the next tower where you can go up on the wall again. Despite the degradation, it is easier to go on Jiankoudelen than Mutianyudelen, which is much more undulating with lots of stairs and some are extremely steep and all are without handrails.
