  • A live-in temple for those monks. Information easily accessible to explain the taoism culture, practice, main even throughout the year. A wheel chair friendly place.
  • Located in a park with a lake. It is worth visiting if you have the time. ascension is not difficult.

  • 白塔寺, 又稱妙應寺, 位於西城區, 在北海公園一帶, 遠遠便看到這白塔, 建於元朝是中國現存年代最早, 規模最大的喇嘛塔, 目前作為博物館對外開放.
  • It's a 600 m walk (10 min) from exit B of the Fuchengmen metro station on line 2. Admittance fee is 20 RMB. Honestly, my focus was only on the white pagoda that I don't remember any other features of the site. There was a small side museum that described the building of the pagoda. One note is that archers were placed at the center and the distance of their shots outward determined the location of the walls. There was notable stature of the architect of the pagoda. All this pales to the pagoda. Entrance into the pagoda was not allowed, so I could only walk around the base.
