Olympic Forest Park (South Gate), Beijing

4.5
#16 of 162 in Parks in Beijing
Constructed ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and covering 680 hectares (1,680 acres), Olympic Forest Park (South Gate) offers an abundance of walking and jogging routes and a lake containing small islands which are linked by bridges. A few small carnival-style rides entertain young children, and the man-made hill in the north corner of the park offers views of the lake to the south (said to be a great example of Feng Shui design). The park becomes particularly busy around weekends and holidays, so either join the crowds and start exploring, or head here for sunset or during the week for a more tranquil experience. • We went here after visiting the Olympic park, great choice. You can walk a 3k or a 10k route, take a motorised car or, as we did, hire an electric boat and gently drift around the park. A big flock of...  more »
  • The Olympic Forest Park is very suitable for a family walk together, with the elderly children, the family slowly walk together, slowly chat, feel very happy. The park is very large, it is quiet, there is no city noisy escape, as if the Peach Garden general.

  • It's very well manicured, but it's mostly just paved walking paths and only one lawn that you're not necessarily allowed to walk on.
  • Amazing Park fot relaxation & chill out .. Love it so much
  • 佔地非常大的奧林匹克公園,有遊園腳踏車可租借,繞行一圈加上休息踹口氣約一個半小時,而且為傲的龍型水系從體育場至公園沿線,值得邊走邊看其規劃的內容。
  • Beautiful park. You can go ahead and relax

  • The South Gate has a very big entrance and exit, suggest to enter the park from this door. The park is very large, there are all kinds of flower stalls, as well as red plastic fitness trails. The vegetation is very rich, spring comes to breathe the fresh air is also very good. But there are no special attractions, are: roads, trees, bridges, rivers, chairs. A few roads outside the South Gate to the shopping center, there are a lot of food.
