New Silk Alley Market (Xiu Shui), Beijing
(1.2/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Prepare for a visual feast of colored textiles and some serious bargains at New Silk Alley Market (Xiu Shui), a large nine-level shopping mall and an important start of China's New Silk Road. With over 1,700 retail outlets covering 35,000 sq m (376,736 sq ft), the market offers much more than silk. You can browse through designer clothes, shoes, and accessories, or order your tailor-made garments. In the past, tourists flocked here for counterfeit designer brands. A covered market since 2005, the shopping center still makes a popular tourist stop and has its own subway station. • Not worth the visit. All expensive, they talk the price up there, but ten times the price. Want to shop around for bargains, go to the Pearl market. It's simpler, but stores no stalls Are all cheaper.

  • For those who were interested, even decent imitations were years ago almost only at very reasonable prices, today has become very dear, let's say that you have to haggle a lot in order to save money. Today it is interesting to buy local produce some very beautiful and definitely more interesting than all those products Tarot sketchy. Don't be fooled by the price displayed on the item because they put so much for. You are learned by now especially with Europeans who have always supported their demands.

  • Ridiculous starting prices, then you try to negotiate, but end up paying a lot anyway. Wangfuji street was no negotiating, but prices were good, and no hassle. DO NOT GO!
