New Silk Alley Market (Xiu Shui), Beijing

(1.3/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Prepare for a visual feast of colored textiles and some serious bargains at New Silk Alley Market (Xiu Shui), a large nine-level shopping mall and an important start of China's New Silk Road. With over 1,700 retail outlets covering 35,000 sq m (376,736 sq ft), the market offers much more than silk. You can browse through designer clothes, shoes, and accessories, or order your tailor-made garments. In the past, tourists flocked here for counterfeit designer brands. A covered market since 2005, the shopping center still makes a popular tourist stop and has its own subway station.
