Nanluoguxiang, Beijing
(4/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Admire a preserved section of traditional architecture dating back to the Yuan Dynasty at Nanluoguxiang, one of the city's most historic areas. Explore this 0.8 km (0.5 mi) long stretch to browse an array of shops, street vendors, and restaurants, and observe a number of hutong, traditional homes that feature walled courtyards opening out onto the street. Go for a stroll along the section of the street that abuts the expansive canal, or simply bring along your camera to snap a few photos of the stout Drum Tower and colorfully painted building fronts. • The Hutong is more rebuilt and facing tourists, it is very cosy and Nice, tents are very interesting and offers beautiful views of Beijing which was in ancient times, there are several bridges and a beautiful canal, decorated with weeping trees. For lovers of cats, there is a bar in this area with 38 cats, very good care, the bar serves the best smoothies, juices and ice cream in the area, highly recommended. Nanluoxiang offers many alternatives to the visitor, from cars that give you rides, museums, exhibitions and cultural stores.

  • I have always loved this place, all time favourite. Hmmmmm.... But now it's become way toooooooo commercial. Used to be a tucked away alley with many unique boutiques and cafes, and owners were often do chatty that you can easily spend an afternoon chatting about life Now it's inside-out tourist destination/street food galore! 😢
  • Good tourist spot, with many innovative products.
  • When you walk down the streets, you will see almost everywhere dotted with plants and ancient houses.
  • This is a tourist Mecca, very crowded, but a great buzz and plenty of places to eat / shop. Don't expect an 'authentic' Hutong experience but nevertheless a great place to visit.
  • Very touristic place, but also show the traditional view of Beijing
