Hongluo Temple, Beijing

4.5
Covering a total area of 800 ha (1,977 ac), Hongluo Temple stands out as one of the largest and oldest Buddist temples in the area. Located on Mount Hongluo in northern Beijing, some 55 km (34 mi) from the city center, the area provides great opportunities for long, scenic hikes. Enjoy the imperial bamboo forest, with 500 Buddhas among the trees, or see the 2,000-year-old ginkgo trees standing 30 m tall (98 ft) and looking like a couple. An observation deck atop a steep brick stairway offers sweeping views of the hills and Hongluo Lake, as well as ancient pines and wisterias. Check different zodiac statues, ring a large bell, or enjoy the garden ponds and cascades of this 1,000-year-old temple. You can take a rail sled on your way down. • In Beijing had a half-time, came back to the airport from the great wall at Mutianyu. About 20 minutes by car from the great wall at Mutianyu and is surrounded by other regarding tourist destinations is not. Atmosphere not unlike Japan in the Chinese-style Temple, Temple, Plum Garden, and garden is a surprise. This winter, was artificial, but another season and enjoy seems natural. To climb within 1 km long and there is a small temple Kwan yin Temple, is using a slider resembling those of the great wall at Mutianyu, served as an attraction (from 80 RMB, RMB 50 one way, overseas issuing credit cards are acceptable ).
