Overlooking the west side of a huge square, Great Hall of the People (Renmin Dahuitang) serves as a meeting place of the government and China's communist party. Mao Zedong dedicated the building to the people, the true rulers of the country according to the communist principle. Built by thousands of volunteers in 1959, the building features an auditorium with 10,000 seats, a banquet hall that can entertain 7,000 guests, and reception halls for each of China's provinces. As you enter the auditorium, look up at the ceiling to spot the trademark red star surrounded with a cluster of lights. • Massive and impressive building located in the heart of China's government and culture - both modern and ancient.
  • The Great Hall of the People is a state building located atTiananmen Square in Beijing. It is used for legislative and ceremonial activities by the People's Republic of China government and the ruling Communist Party of China.
  • The Chinese government building. A very nice building that shows the power of the country in the architecture. They offer tours of the buildings and it is well worth it. You can see many of the committee rooms for each province in which each room is uniquely designed to that specific province.
  • Where is Liu Xia? Wife of Noble Prize Winner Liu Xiaobo.
  • Powerful building, maybe not very beautiful but beauty is in the eye of beholder (as we know). Now is HQ of Chinese parliament. Maybe its function is to symbolise power of China.
