(3.8/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
At the foot of Western Mountains rests Fragrant Hills Park (Xiangshan Gongyuan), an imperial garden consisting of maple, smoke, persimmon, and pine cypress trees. Built in 1186, the urban park shelters traditional architecture and many cultural relics scattered over an area of 160 hectares (395 acres). Explore the natural and historic sites--such as monasteries, pagodas, villas, lakes, and plants--by taking one of two main routes through the park. You can also go on a cable car ride to observe the spectacular panoramic scenery and fiery autumn foliage from a higher vantage point.
