Dashilan, Beijing

(130+ reviews on the web)
Historic Walking Area Landmark
Pass through the distinctive ornate gate and enter Dashilan, the most ancient and famous commercial street in Beijing. Though it originates from the Yuan dynasty, the locals expanded it to its largest size during the Ming dynasty, and today it stretches 275 m (902 ft). Experience Chinese antiquity in the street's old buildings and the surviving historic shops and stores. You can find many goods there, ranging from superior quality silk, shoes, and hats, to tea houses. Try some of the traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, and don’t miss tasting the local snacks as well. Put Dashilan into our Beijing trip builder to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Beijing.

  • Nice street to walk around in. Seeing old teahouses and teashops a long with other typical local shops. Close to Tian'anmen Square. Side (alley)streets are also very worth seeing.  more »

  • Fantastyczne miejsce. Wejdź a poczujesz się jak na Magical Mystery Tour w czasie. / Fantastic place, enter here and you will feel a breath of history on your neck. Plus lots of interesting people, not only tourists, the Chinese are extremely nice, polite, talkative. Recommend taking a walk here.
  • 保留了歷史外形,保留了百年老店,不知為什麼就是欠缺歷史的感覺。
  • 遊覽景點,逛街,買東西,吃吃喝喝都不錯的地方
  • Many people, eat so much good stuff, fun, train
