3.9/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web
Pass through the distinctive ornate gate and enter Dashilan, the most ancient and famous commercial street in Beijing. Though it originates from the Yuan dynasty, the locals expanded it to its largest size during the Ming dynasty, and today it stretches 275 m (902 ft). Experience Chinese antiquity in the street's old buildings and the surviving historic shops and stores. You can find many goods there, ranging from superior quality silk, shoes, and hats, to tea houses. Try some of the traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, and don’t miss tasting the local snacks as well. Put Dashilan into our Beijing trip builder to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Beijing.

  • 都說大柵欄曾為北京一等的商業街,但是整個規劃重建之後,老實說有些讓人失望。儘管還是舊式建築,卻弄得太新,已經找不到歷史的況味。
  • It's amazing how in Beijing combines Street with modern buildings and places where preserved national coloring. This is one of those streets. You can stroll, buy different souvenirs, taste of Chinese dishes and enjoy the atmosphere of the evening are particularly lively.

  • The main road slightly redone is crossed by a tram, is full of shops and places where to eat the duck, has a typical arc to get there and find us an ancient pharmacy (do not get water or more if you need to purchase a medication). In the side streets other shopping features that give the idea of the hutong which is also what I liked the most.
