Caleta Horcon, Valparaiso

3.4
#2 of 7 in Wildlife in Valparaiso Region
Sometimes referred to as the "hippie hotspot" of the central coast, the sleepy town of Caleta Horcon gets its eclectic atmosphere from the local population of fishermen, artisans, and nudists. Tumbling paths lead toward the main cove, lined with rows of colorful fishing boats and artists who often set up shop on the beach selling an array of local crafts. Two other beaches sit nearby: one offers peaceful seclusion surrounded by rolling hills and the other is Chile's only official nudist beach, one hour's walk north from the main beach. • To get to know is cute. Small beach but you can swim already that there are no waves as in other beaches, you can also rent canoes. Down the walk, you will find the "feria artesanal", is small but very nice leather things, necklaces and memories of the place. Thereupon and leaving the fair there is the bridge of wishes, a small bridge filled full of ribbons attacked where people leave written wishes. It is not difficult to get to by public transport that take in Horcon main street. There are several convenience stores where to buy and other stores. Even sleeping there are plenty of Inns "cabañas" are in the same place without the need for online bookings, maybe not luxurious but for a couple of days is just fine, of course there are also more sophisticated i.e. is there for every budget. You can also walk to other beaches doing some street.

Where to stay in Valparaiso

Since its inscription on the World Heritage List in 2002, Valparaiso tourism has experienced a meteoric rise. The city now offers a wide range of accommodations, especially budget hostels and mid-range hotels and inns. Cerro Alegre, a hill just to the west of the city center, offers perhaps the largest range of options and looks out over the bustling port. Stay in the friendly neighborhood of Cerro Concepcion to enjoy the best of Valparaiso's cafe culture.
