Ascensor Reina Victoria, Valparaiso

4.4
Ride comfortably on Ascensor Reina Victoria, a funicular railway declared a historical monument in 1998. Opened over a hundred years ago, the hillside elevator was named in honor of Queen Vitoria, the long-reigning British monarch who died in 1901. Works of public art decorate the line's stations, while the summit offers fine views of the adjacent hills. • This is one of the oldest lifts believe by not being one of the best infrastructure, from first glance you stay afraid to climb or descend with him but then get used to it and understand that it is better to pay 100 pesos than climb the hills or stairs to reach the cerr the.

  • One of the most ancient, only costs 100 pesos to deal with it and get direct to the plaza of Lukas in where you can use the slide. Not entederas of Lukas graffiti but you know who is... instruyete first, you will enjoy it more.

  • It is a different touch, we liked very much because that connects you to the hills without much effort. Next to the stairs allow to do a magical place of Valpo

  • Beautiful street with lots of street art. Many levels of streets here, as you can see in my photos. There were also street musicians and there is s brewery at the end of the street!
  • Valparaiso, it is a place you want to get lost into and strangely inviting. Loved it and I will be back.
  • Easily accesible funicular that brings you right up to the bellavista area. CP100 per go. Good views at the top
  • Fun, cheap (100chp) and easy tourist activity to do that also help[s you get from one part of the city to the other in a fraction of the time. Good place to take photos from. I highly recommend stopping by and taking a ride up the Asensor.
  • You will fall in love with this city at the top of this ascensor. Best place in Valpo!

Where to stay in Valparaiso

Since its inscription on the World Heritage List in 2002, Valparaiso tourism has experienced a meteoric rise. The city now offers a wide range of accommodations, especially budget hostels and mid-range hotels and inns. Cerro Alegre, a hill just to the west of the city center, offers perhaps the largest range of options and looks out over the bustling port. Stay in the friendly neighborhood of Cerro Concepcion to enjoy the best of Valparaiso's cafe culture.
