Ascensor Polanco, Valparaiso
(4.1/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Ride to the top of Ascensor Polanco, the only vertical elevator in Valparaiso. Situated on Polanco Hill, the lift first takes you through a 150 m (493 ft) tunnel, before ascending the 60 m (197 ft) tower. Inaugurated in 1916, the scenic elevator is now a National Monument of Chile. From the top of the tower you can enjoy encapsulating views of Valparaiso and take postcard-worthy photographs of the colorful vistas. Descend the Cerro Polanco on foot to see the brightly painted murals and graffiti that grace the walls of the hilly neighborhood. • As several of the elevators of Valpo, this has the feeling of being in another world, but also the parador has a beautiful view to the sea and beautiful terraces and walkways to explore and wander. Recommended

  • It is an economic ride that gives one of the best views of Valparaiso. It only costs 100 pesos and is entered by a tunnel of stone where low water. The operator is very nice and told us the elevator data. I recommend lowering walk since the Hill has many murals that are worth to be seen. The only thing that takes away a bit of magic to the place is that the elevator is a current (as of shop) model for what is not out.

  • From the top you have a great view of Valparaiso, to get to the top of it is necessary to enter through a tunnel quite interesting, the attraction is very cheap and easy access, is worth the visit.

  • If the location is right now. The previous stop was intermediate in street Valderrama. Now the marker is correctly located. The old one was the first stop near Valderrama Street.
