Ascensor Concepcion, Valparaiso
(4.1/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Built in 1883, Ascensor Concepcion serves as the city’s oldest elevator and a national monument. This funicular, which was originally steam powered, still carries passengers up a steep hill from the commercial district to the Paseo Gervasoni sector. Keep your camera out during the ascent to get photos of the city and the bay of Valparaiso. Be sure to spend time at the top exploring the city’s hippest scene, where murals decorate the sides of funky cafes and eclectic shops. Put Ascensor Concepcion into our Valparaiso vacation planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Valparaiso.

  • Next to the elevator Queen Victoria, is the easiest way to traverse the hills Alegre and Concepción without performing the physical effort required to climb the hills of Valparaiso walk. It joins calle Esmeralda in the Valparaiso plan paseo Gervasoni at cerro Concepción. It has a value of 300 pesos per section.

  • change of scenery in 5 minutes. The design district is to see again and again with its decorated houses, its typical streets. Downside: many tourists which we same.

  • There's no way to go to Santiago and does not come up for a lift, because the city has a high that to access it only taking the elevator. The Concepcion for staying close to points of interest, is the best known, being compulsory and a must for a walk in it.

  • This was one of the shortest rides. Nice addition to the trip around Valpariso looking at the graffiti. I would not make a trip out just for this.
  • Unique experience
  • Worth a look!
  • Buena opción para subir al cerro
  • I expected more tourism ambient
