  • This is a cheap ride up the hill to an area with a bunch of tourist stalls and great views of the port and Valparaiso. It cost 600 pesos roundtrip (300 each way) and you pay at the top when you arrive...  more »
  • Riding an ascensor (and there are many) is a must when you visit Valparaiso, and they are s cheap ($0.20 - $075) and great fun.  more »
  • It is one of the must-see places in the area. from there you can see all Valparaiso. In summer is a mess, because it's full of tourists making a great rank, which will be 100 people trying to wait their turn to climb without lying. In February I wait 50 minutes to take the elevator. You get there and then lower by one side. Upstairs there is a craft fair but face young

  • Years back I have been on a bicycle tour throughout Chile. Some days I spent at Valparaiso. Isn't it the city of Cabrillo the seafarer? Interesting environment. Good scenic views. I remember when I have been touring around, what a lady said to me: "you came down this hill? Which road you have taken?". I pointed on it and she replied: "this is a safe road. One road further and you wouldn't' be here"... See pictures! Nevertheless a must see place.
  • Nice view of city, waterfront and the ascensor. Pay to ride up and then walk down the nearby street.
  • Built in 1893, this ascensor is the longest and most pictured. The twin ascensores take you to/from Plaza Aduana & Paseo 21 de Mayo then you can head to Museo Maritime Nacional. Lots of souvenir shops and great view. $300 one way
  • Pretty view
  • This elevator is excellent as it is very close to the sea and many pictures can be taken, and at the top there is a viewpoint also allowing some good shots to the landscape.
