  • Impressive forest of alerces de 2.000 years and a copy of 3,000 years, located in the Valdivian jungle. It includes 4 hours guided traking circuit to reach destination.

  • (Please scroll down for English) We hired Rodrigo de Selva Valdiviana Tours (svtours.cl) as a guide and we waited in poultry. It rained all day, but we like the expedition and it was amazing to see the Valdivian rainforest and ancient larches in the rain (finally and after this is a rain forest). The famous ancient larch of 2600 years did not disappoint: it's amazing. Something that left me pleasantly surprised is that estimates of the ages of the trees are made by University researchers based on physical measurements... ie... is not a trap for tourists, hehe. It seems to me that this is far more enriching activity that can be done in the surroundings of Valdivia. The Guide brought us a delicious snack and knew very well the area, its history and its natural wealth. We hired Rodrigo from Valdivian Rainforest Tours (svtours.cl) to take us to the trail. It was raining but the rainforest was incredible nonetheless (it is after all to rain-forest). The larch cypress trees stole the show, with ages ranging from hundreds of years old to thousands of years old. This is the second longest living tree species on planet earth. Our guide (a very good driver) met us at poultry, so we had to figure out the ferry out (it wasn't too difficult). He was very knowledgeable about the area's history and natural history, and brought us a nice sandwich, chocolates, and fruits. Overall this is probably the most enriching experience you can have so close to Valdivia.

  • It is a path surrounded by greenery of considerable antiquity. Very lush and large trees. If you do not have a finished description of how to begin this activity it is possible that you will never reach to discover it.
