Parque Oncol, Valdivia

(4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Head to Parque Oncol, a natural reserve in the Valdivian Coast Range, for unmatched views and lush wildlife trails. The 7.5 km (3 sq m) park is situated mostly on Cerro Oncol, the highest peak in the mountain range. Climb to the 715 m (2,345 ft) summit to admire miles of ocean, the Argentine border, and several large volcanoes. Explore the natural surroundings on one of the relatively easy hiking trails, or take a canopy zipline trip along the wildlife-filled rainforest. The park also offers restrooms, campsite facilities, and a coffee shop where you can relax with a hot drink. Parque Oncol is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Valdivia Edition.

  • We arrived without having it as a goal. It is a private park (Forestal Arauco), which is well maintained and signposted. Of difficulty medium to low and their paths can do is according to what one want or can do. From 20' to 1 hour and half maximum. It has beautiful views and viewpoints. For those who like to visit parks, it is a very good option.

  • It's a great walk, you can go with children. Good experience to know the Valdivian jungle. However striking the road missing maintenance, you can go low cars but with calm and care. In addition that the signs in them trails leave enough that wish. They lack a good arrangement. The Canopy, which was above the trees no longer works. In summary it is worth going, is a good ride but there are things that, over time, not fixed and have deteriorated.

  • Is a not to be missed on a visit to Valdivia. Oncol is a book private, very extensive and interesting. It has a large number of paths is internam in dense Valdivian jungle. It suggests priviligear in trail Oncol. There are 2 hours of good exercise, which is worth the pain of living.
