Mercado Fluvial de Valdivia, Valdivia

4.4
Pay a visit to Mercado Fluvial de Valdivia, a lively market bursting with fresh fish and seafood from the region. Set along the Valdivia River, the market features the locally caught bounty of the sea, which ranges from clams and mussels to a whole host of sizeable fish species. Try some for yourself by grabbing freshly prepared fish from one of the many stands in the area. It is a typical Chilean place of fresh fish for sale. It is interesting to explore it and see the customs of the place.

It is an area to the side of the river... is very tidy and despite having many sale of fish there is no odor. It is very clean... There is also a sector of fruits and vegetables incredible...! It is good to know... see how working fishermen beside the sea lions and birds... very striking. Characteristic of Valdivia place. You should know... and if a few days remain take to eating fresh and rich.

Beautiful place. Fresh seafood available but not all the time. Watch out for forbidden products like local abalone please don't buy forbidden seafood. Nice local fruit and vegetables available. Ulml honey, plants and flowers. Some local handcrafts available like woolen socks and hats. Good deals on boat fares to nearby villages. Some Chinese souvenirs on the street make it annoying.

Where to stay in Valdivia

Valdivia boasts a range of accommodations befitting a regional capital. The hub of activity has traditionally centered around the Calle-Calle River, with many of the longer-established resorts and hotels located on the water or just a street or two back. That said, the inland areas of town also offer a diverse set of lodgings. Look around Plaza de los Rios for some of the city's trendier boutiques, along with a good number of simple and charming guesthouses.
