  • Leaving Valdivia, we must get to fog to take the ferry. Depending on the date tail can be 1 h 30, as happened to us, but is worthwhile, is recommended to leave in the morning. The trip costs 4,600 clp by auto and lasts about 20 minutes. Reaching the port turning left will access the Castillo de San Carlos, where there is a recreation of what was the taking of the Castle by Lord Cochrane, very attractive, telling the story, simulating the fight and running the firing of a cannon, the entrance costs 1,500 pp. clp It is also advisable to make the journey to the beach and dunes of Chaihuín about 27 km from poultry, it is a very quiet and suitable for bathing beach. If they walk with time also you can visit the trail and lookout the tusks, sendero Los Alerces, larch coastal National Park and the sea lion colony. We reached not to take these last destinos.el return can be made for land, accessing a dirt road to Valdivia or on the ferry which is the last exit to 00: 00, but it is common to find large amount of auto and a wait of 2 hours This tour is very dynamic and entertaining for the whole family.

  • We crossed by boat with our van. The view is beautiful, open sea that runs on a coastal road at different heights above sea level. Crossing the Chauhuin River, a few meters away there is a national park with a walk that took us to the viewpoint of the tusks, on the coast of the sea. Worth it!

Where to stay in Valdivia

Valdivia boasts a range of accommodations befitting a regional capital. The hub of activity has traditionally centered around the Calle-Calle River, with many of the longer-established resorts and hotels located on the water or just a street or two back. That said, the inland areas of town also offer a diverse set of lodgings. Look around Plaza de los Rios for some of the city's trendier boutiques, along with a good number of simple and charming guesthouses.
